WE LIVE HERE AND PLAY HERE AND WE NOTICED THAT THERE WAS GARBAGE WASHED UP ON THE BEACH AND IN THE DUNES, SO WE DECIDED TO HELP CLEAN IT UP.

Our family has grown up on Lido Beach, and we do our best to keep our “backyard” clean but it’s a tough challenge and it’s getting tougher every day as the world’s plastic production is increasing exponentially. One could argue that a beach cleanup is a futile task in the big scheme of things, but we believe that the real power of our cleanups and our club is helping raise awareness of the issue of plastic pollution. Every time someone sees us or one of our volunteers pick up a piece of trash or post a photo on social media, we are making an impact. We need your help to broaden that impact.

The CBCO Lido is an informal club and we encourage participation. All you need is a desire to help clean up the beach, a desire to inspire change in the world. Register for a CBCO Lido cleanup today, follow and tag us on social media, and subscribe to and share our Ocean News newsletter. Together we will make an impact.

CLUB HISTORY

CBCO Lido was founded in 2008 by Coral, Brooke, Clark, and Orion Newby of Lido Beach, New York to help keep Lido Beach clean.
We live here and play here and we noticed that there was garbage washed up on the beach and in the dunes, so we decided to help clean it up.
In 2023, along with the American Littoral Society, we proudly hosted our 15th Annual Lido Beach chapter Ocean Conservancy International Coastal Cleanup.
